While Peter Michaels’ wallet took a nose-dive his creativity soared. Over his life, he has formed some very close relationships with Fredric March, Robert Bloch ("Psycho"), Roddy McDowall, Vincent Price and many more. To Peter, that was the real reward. Icons that were his heroes when he was a child running around with that Super 8 movie camera had not only become friends but also mentors with similar tastes (albeit generations apart) and with deep mutual respect.
After a short dip into film, Peter created another program and shot several episodes as a blueprint for a comedy/drama series called Public XS, yet again (amazingly) on a ZERO budget. One of Peter’s sometimes unrecognized talents is getting other talent (cast and crew) together to work along with him doing long hours for no pay, no glitz, no slacking – just for some good work they can be proud of.
Peter was thrilled when Roddy McDowall loved the concept enough to want to get involved personally on a proposed "mainstream version.” Quite sadly, Roddy’s failing health meant that he was unable to participate. We still all hope PUBLIC XS will be picked up by someone with vision.

We asked Peter for a few scenes from a movie he had written, co-produced and took lead in some years back that had a few rather unique themes. Without elaborating, Peter simply said he wasn’t “particularly thrilled” with the finished product - but we pushed him and here's a few scenes.
Who is this man named Peter Michaels that you've never heard of? How can someone be so fondly remembered as a real talent of consequence by not only fans but once by some of the elder icons of the entertainment industry and be such a complete unknown?
Back when the Earth was still cooling, Peter Michaels began his career as a comic, writer, actor, director and producer: he was a ten year old boy. Who wanted to be anything else? Peter never understood why any kid wouldn’t need a Super 8 movie projector and camera, a reel to reel tape-recorder, a notebook and a copy of Famous Monsters of Filmland. Why wasn’t everyone their own historian? What others have called his many unique gifts he simply calls being a storyteller.
Peter has also anonymously contributed several plot fixes to random movies scripts that were in deep trouble. Fairly common in the industry, contributions like these are never credited to the writer who repairs the faulty story lines. The general public is none the wiser - but I am.
